Our Team

Dr. Steven Lowinger is a board certified optometric physician specializing in primary eye care and contact lenses fitting and management. He has been practicing in South Florida for over 20 years, and is a native Floridian born and raised on Miami Beach. He is the managing Optometrist of Lowinger Eyecare North Miami, Lowinger Eyecare Miami Lakes, and Lowinger Eyecare Mall of the Americas.

Dr. Lowinger’s practice centeres on providing eye examinations for the diagnosis, management and treatment of conditions of the eyes and visual systems as well as the fitting of various types of specialty contact lenses. He is a contact lens specialist and has published numerous articles and lectures on contact lenses, multifocal contact lenses, and contact lens solutions. He has been a consultant for Vistakon, Alcon Labs, and Bauch and Lomb, as well as a speaker on Dry Eye and Retinal issues.

Dr. Lowinger graduated from the Universtiy of Florida in 1991 with a Bachelors in Business Administration and then got his Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University in 1995.

Dr. Lowinger is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and Energeyes, The Association of Corporate affiliated Optometrists, of which he is a board member.

Dr. Lowinger is Fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Ray TW Kim is a board certified optometric physician. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences at Queen’s University in Canada and went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree with honors at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. He completed his internship in ocular diseases at the Eye Center of South Florida where he worked with Dr Dan and Dr Hoffman. He gained further insights into ocular diseases including management of glaucoma and macular generation with Dr Aker at Aker Kasten Eye Center.

Dr. Kim has gained extensive experience in providing secondary and tertiary ophthalmic care to geriatric population. His professional interests lie in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and potential amblyopic conditions in pediatric.

Dr. Kim also served as the adjunct faculty member of the College of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences and Salus University in the past three years at South Florida Vision Center. His principal roles included being a clinical preceptor to the fourth-year students in the Primary Care services.
He also enjoys fitting specialty soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and exploring the world with his family.
